It all began two years ago when Carmen and Raymond first reached out to me, eagerly planning their wedding scheduled for 2022 in Hamilton. However, life had other plans, and unforeseen circumstances led to the unfortunate decision to postpone their big day until everything cleared up.
Months passed, and then came an unexpected email from Carmen with a new wedding date set for 2023.
As fate would have it, their chosen wedding weekend coincided with a planned family cottage trip of mine. With quick adjustments, we rescheduled our trip, ensuring I could be there to capture Carmen and Raymond's special day. It felt as though destiny had intervened, leading me to photograph their wedding, now relocated to Markham.
The day unfolded with grace and beauty, beginning at the Toronto Marriott Hotel in Markham. Carmen and Raymond shared intimate moments as they got ready together in the same hotel room, assisting each other with the final touches. Instead of a traditional wedding ceremony, they opted for the Chinese wedding tea ceremony, infusing their day with cultural significance.
Their evening reception at Providential 9 Restaurant was a celebration of love and unity, enriched by Chinese traditions and unconventional wedding rituals. Eschewing a traditional wedding party, Carmen and Raymond invited their closest friends to serve as masters of ceremony, adding a personal touch to the festivities.
As the night drew to a close, Carmen and Raymond stole away from the reception to bask in the romantic glow of the evening's soft blue hour light, cherishing the quiet moments together.
Their wedding day was a testament to their resilience, love, and unwavering commitment to one another. It was an honor to be part of their journey and to capture the magic of their special day.
I hope you enjoy these wedding photos as much as I do. May Carmen and Raymond's wedding inspire you to follow your heart when it comes to planning your own wedding.
With love,
Ally
