Joanne and Jonathan’s minimalistic studio engagement photos were taken in January at Sunday Sunday Photography Studio in Markham Ontario, northeast of downtown Toronto.
Winter engagement photoshoots were not always easy in Toronto’s winter given its unpredictable snowstorm days and almost unexceptional cold weather. But not if we brought it indoor. Joanne and Johnathan chose to have their engagement photos taken in a photography studio so that they could still wear a dress and a suit for the session in the midst of a deep winter. I thought it’s a great idea.
A studio provided a personal space for couples who appreciated the privacy. It made it that much easier for couples to focus on each other with no outside attention. A studio space was also versatile to work with. Sunday Sunday Photography Studio had a modern interior design. It provided the studio engagement session with a beautiful backdrop yet it didn’t intervene with the intimacy of the photoshoot. Joanne and Jonathan’s engagement session was minimalistic with a focus on the two’s interactions and connection. The couple’s chemistry shine through these photographs. They even spontaneously ended the photoshoot with a slow dance.
I felt great that Joanne and Jonathan were so relaxed during their studio engagement session. One could see their true selves and their intimate relationship in these engagement photos. Their love for each other was evident in the ways they looked at each other, the spontaneous giggles and the unprompted kisses. More importantly, these minimalistic studio engagement photos looked effortless and storytelling. I hope you also found these photos told Joanne and Jonathan’s love story well. We knew this was just the beginning.
Love, Ally
