Toronto Wedding Venues - Small Wedding Venues

Because we’re such big fans of intimate weddings, we published another list of Best Small Wedding Venues in Toronto in 2018 and that list went viral on Google Search. Be sure to check the more updated list out and stay tuned for a new one coming up soon (updated March 2020).

I love intimate weddings. Here is a short list of wedding venues that are ideal for small, intimate wedding reception in Toronto. I am quite fond of their unique characteristics inside and out. Though some are more so than the others, the overall versatility of these venues make it possible for the newlyweds to step out of their reception during sunset to have some private time and make some stunning sunset wedding portraits. Hope you find your favourite space for your special day!

Caffino Ristorante

Caffino Ristorante is an Italian restaurant located in Liberty Village with lots of characteristics inside out for photography opportunities and great food and atmosphere for a great time. It's ideal for a small wedding as the indoor space is quite limited yet very cozy for the right party size. It's a popular wedding venue for good reasons. Ceremony is possible both indoor and outdoor and both spaces are photogenic. Within walking distance, there are a lot of cool backdrops for bridal party photos and bride and groom portraits which make this venue even more ideal for intimate celebrations. It's a wedding venue in the city that allows the bride and groom to easily step out and have some romantic couple photos at sunset. Click here to see a recent wedding I shot at Caffino.

Fantasy Farm

In comparison to other small wedding venues listed here, Fantasy Farm has a relatively larger capacity. Their Cottage room can accommodate up to 110 people and their Grand Ballroom up to a group of 220. In the photo above it showcases the outside of the Cottage room. I personally find it a great space for small weddings because of its outdoor elements. It has one of the coolest, forest-looking ceremony space in the city. Located right by Don Valley Parkway, it's the little nature in the mist of a crowded city space. Click here to see a recent wedding I shot at Fantasy Farm.

The Spoke Club

Located in the heart of Toronto Fashion District, Spoke Club is an urban wedding venue with rustic and industrial looking interior. Think salvage wood, brick walls, large windows, exposed ventilation ducts. A Spoke Club wedding is ideal for couples who are looking for a modern, laid back, warm and intimately romantic celebration.

Gladstone is a boutique art hotel housed in a 19-century Victorian building. Located in the heart of Queen West, Gladstone fits right in with Toronto's hippest neighbourhood. Click here to see an event I shot at Gladstone with the set up of the roaring 20's in the Lower West Side.

St. Lawrence Market

I've shot a couple weddings at St. Lawrence Market's Market Kitchen last year alone and both had been great fun. The space tends to attract laid back, easy going brides and grooms who enjoy the venue's urban setting and historical characteristics. The Market Kitchen, unknown to many who had been to St. Lawrence Market, is a small, hidden yet open space on the second level of the Market. Click here to see a summer wedding I shot at St. Lawrence Market Market Kitchen and here to see a fall wedding took place in the same year.

Graydon Hall Manor

Have I mentioned that I love Graydon Hall? I'm a hopeless romantic when it comes to making heart-stirring, moody wedding photos. I love to capture emotions - both the heart lightening happy laughters and the most quiet, subtle emotions that I believe few would notice if it's not captured by photographs. Graydon Hall is a very inspiring space, both inside and out. It has the loveliest garden for an outdoor ceremony, a sizeable patio and a beautiful interior.
