When I first received the wedding photography inquiry from Bora and Eddy for their summer wedding at Fantasy Farm, I thought to myself "huh Fantasy Farm, that sounds fancy". I felt I've heard of the name of this wedding venue but never really gave it a close look. I searched "fantasy farm weddings" on Google and weren't too satisfied with the images from the search result. There aren't a lot of photos of the venue, especially not its indoor reception hall. When I finally arrived at the venue, I found it quite a hidden germ at a convenient location in the city of Toronto. It's also a plus that it comes with a free parking lot which is rate for a downtown Toronto wedding venue. Though this doesn't concern me as a photographer much, I always find that a convenient, all-in-one venue will be a bonus for the couple and their guests. A simple wedding is a good wedding. I loved Fantasy Farm's outdoor space. It's not the fanciest venue in Toronto but it has its own characteristics and potential for great outdoor ceremony photos and wedding portraits. Also, it sits in the middle of many other popular wedding photo locations. Within 15 minutes drive, ranging from Evergreen Brick Works to habour front, from the Distillery District to St. Lawrence Market, all are great spots for bride and groom wedding photos. I tend to prefer a less popular and more intimate location for wedding photos and I actually have a few less known photo locations marked in the area. Bora and Eddy's intimate wedding celebration took place at the Cottage room. There's also the Grand Ballroom for bigger weddings. A Fantasy Farm wedding is indeed like a cottage wedding but in the city. A great garden for outdoor wedding ceremony and an intimate space for indoor receptions. The most tricky part could be my favourite sunset wedding photo session. Because the venue is hidden in this beautiful forest, a wedding photographer has to chase the light properly. Bora and Eddy chose to get ready at the Trump Hotel on their wedding day, at the comfort of a hotel in the heart of Toronto city. I loved the contrast of a luxury, modern city backdrop for their getting ready photos and an intimate outdoor wedding ceremony in the greens, to a down-to-earth, laid-back reception with grill-to-order steaks! May their happy married life full of comforts and adventures!
Lots of love,
Ally
