Diana and Luis’ wedding at Berkeley Field House was the ultimate happy ending. I met the two in 2019. They were referred by a past client and signed with me at our first meeting. Came 2020, we shot an engagement session in August but soon after we realized that their original wedding in October was forced to postpone due to the pandemic. They proceeded to get married in private that September anyway and I was honoured to be their only guest/ wedding photographer other than their two witnesses and the officiant. Diana and Luis still wished to celebrate with friends and family. Their reception date was since reschedule three times due to the ongoing pandemic and venue closure. Their life didn’t take a pause. They were happily married, lived together and even moved to a new home. This wedding celebration at Berkeley Field House finally happened in 2022. The day couldn’t have been better. Diana and Luis’ friends and family were finally able to give the two their blessings in person and enjoy a party. For me, instead of photographing two newly weds, it was sentimental to capture Diana and Luis who had experienced the pandemic and stayed strong together. They were not the type who would show their affection for each other in front of people. At one point during dinner, Diana almost refused Luis’ kiss and laughed at it. But in all these photographs, from the way they looked at each other to the smallest gestures in the fleeting moments, their love for each was evidential.
Diana and Luis, thank you for having me to photograph this special and memorable chapter of your life.
Love, Ally
