Riverdale Park East Engagement Photography
This sunset engagement session at Riverdale Park East with Susi and Aaron was a fun exploration in Toronto's east end. The two introduced me to Rooster Coffee House by the park. It's one of the most lovely coffeehouses I've been to in the city. It's on the hill top, facing west, by the road side where TTC streetcars travelled through and overseeing Riverdale Park as well as the city skyline. As the sun set, soft sunlight came through the coffeehouse's floor to ceiling window door front and lit up the entire space with beautiful warm light. The cozy patio was set up with chairs all facing the street, just like one of those Parisian street coffeehouses. I've already personally revisited the cafe soon after the engagement session. It truly was a hidden germ. We also explored the nearby neighbourhood and made pictures in some unique alleyways. These alleyways reminded me of those quiet backstreets in Taiwan, where coincidentally Susi's originally from. I still remembered vividly the backstreets near the hostel I stayed at while visiting Taiwan. I often believed that it's the less known part of a city that really defined it. These alleyways we found in Toronto and the backstreets I remembered of about Taiwan gave me the impression of a minimalistic life at slow pace. As sun started to set, we returned to Riverdale Park East and watched the sunset in silence. The night's getting darker and eventually the city started to light up. I suggested Aaron to have a dance with Susi on the hill top in front of Toronto city skylines. How often one got to do that.
Thank you Susi and Aaron for spending a nostalgic night with me.
xx,
Ally
